A.) Mass Effect 2 is fun / cool / enjoy shooter RPG.
B.) In order to enjoy this game, and its compelling story without dying a good way to level the competition is to upgrade your armor / weapons / ship. In some cases it may be required.
c.) There is a mini-game of sorts for the collection of elements by scanning planets. This provides the materials to research upgrades.
This. Process. Sucks. Period. Despite my eagerness to play space mining tycoon and it is addictive, I’d much rather find aliens to blow up and recruit these 11 team members to my team, save the galaxy etc.
SO. This leads me to google: “Mass Effect 2 Editor” based on the results, there is a website called “facepunch” that has a nice post about various mods / editors. For my purposes all I wanted was a way to avoid the boring resource gathering. Granted it was fun for a while, I did about 7 hours of resource hunting and it was pretty fun let me tell you, I even got a cramp in my right hand, specifically from holding the right mouse button down. It was the excitement of mining, it really got me all torqued up.
After downloading the editor I scanned it with an anti-virus b/c the file came from rapidshare, meaning it may had issues. Lucky me, it didn’t. I edited myself to have a sizable amount of each mineral, then cranked away. Some may call this cheating, because you can edit the stats of your character as well, but to me that wasn’t fun. I just wanted more fun, less work. Now about 17 hours into the game, I’m enjoying it because I don’t have to waste time on mundane tasks like mining. Purists can call me what they will. I make no qualms about it and console users, sorry no hacks that I know of.
