The Logitech G930

I can’t sell this headset to you so I have no incentive at all whatsoever to do anything other than review it precisely, critically and from a real world usage scenario. No pics, no video, just text.

What: Wireless surround sound gaming headset

Rechargable: yes, via included USB
Battery life: about 5 to 9 hours depending
Comfortable: Yes, I have a big noggin and it has 12 or so notches per side to adjust as well as ear cups fit my big ears.

Does it suck or actually provide a performance advantage: I used Turtle beach wired and wireless headsets prior to this one, I’d say the surround sound in Call of Duty: Black Ops is just a smidge less precise but its fine for movies and games where sound by location is not an issue, such as RPG’s or RTS’s.  I’d say it falls into the NO-SUCK catagory.

Worth buying for over $100? NO. Get this thing under $100 or buy a different product. I’d say hardcore gamers will want something more lightweight if you are going to play 5 to 18 hours or more it starts to weight a bit.  Also my ears kept getting sweaty and my $60 Plantronics Gamescon 777′s never had that problem and neither did my Turtle Beach ones.  If you’re not a hardcore gamer why are you trolling the net on some obscure blog to read a review that you would’ve found on Engadget or CNET where all the tools live?

Bottomline: For under $100, the voice morph is a waste, the surround sound is good but not great BUT the wireless works flawlessly, plug and play. As well as you can recharge it while its in use and the craftsmanship of the device is very solid (Metal band is nice and solid, earcups are well placed and made)

Would I recommend it and to whom? I’d say yes to casual gamers or people who want a middle of the road but not ridiculous headset. Hardcore gamers I’d say go with a turtle beach that works cross platform and probably wired ( I own a DPX-21 works flawless)
